Abdulmonam Eassa invites those who have chosen to become French citizens to pose in front of his large-format camera and share the story of their naturalization journey.Coming from Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, they all express their attachment to this land of refuge—now their country—and reflect on what becoming French means to them. This project was realized with the support of the Grande Commande Photojournalisme of the Bibliothèque nationale de France. As part of the government’s plan to support the press sector, the French Ministry of Culture entrusted the BnF with implementing this major photographic commission, titled “Radioscopy of France: Perspectives on a Country Shaped by the Health Crisis.” The initiative was designed specifically for photojournalists, aiming to document contemporary France through their unique perspectives.
